Is this a paid position or volunteer work?
It depends on the collaboration. Some CCMAS course deliveries carry an honorarium coordinated through the partner institution; others are volunteer mentorship or research collaborations. Details are agreed before a collaboration is confirmed.
How long does vetting take?
The secretariat reviews applications on a rolling basis. Most diaspora professionals hear back with a vetting decision within a few weeks of submitting a complete application.
What is a CCMAS course?
CCMAS (Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards) courses are the standardized courses Nigerian tertiary institutions are required to teach. Diaspora BRIDGE helps close gaps where institutions lack an available instructor for one.
How much time do I need to commit?
That is set collaboration by collaboration — a single semester course, a short workshop series, or an ongoing mentorship. You agree on scope and schedule with the institution before starting.
What if my institution isn't listed yet?
You can still start a gap assessment — there's an option to tell us your institution isn't in the list yet, and the secretariat will get it set up.
